Real trading. The decisions, learning and process behind the chart.

For years I thought learning to trade meant learning to read a chart. I was wrong.

The market taught me about risk, discipline, fear, patience and, above all, myself.

This is not a perfect story. It is my real process.

Before trading

Twenty years building a life

For almost twenty years I ran a building restoration company. Work, family and responsibility shaped almost every day. Over time, one thing became increasingly valuable to me: time.

Then the pandemic arrived. The company accumulated losses and eventually failed. During lockdown, cryptocurrencies caught my attention. At first it was only curiosity.

And then everything changed.

2021–2022

Winning before understanding

I downloaded my first crypto broker in 2021 and traded constantly, without a strategy or risk management. A rising market made me confuse profit with skill.

When the market turned, the weakness of that foundation became obvious. In June 2022 I decided to start again: candles, structure, volume, technical analysis, books, courses and long hours studying charts.

I also made a mistake I would not recommend: I traded real money from day one.

Making money does not necessarily mean you know what you are doing.

The cost

Trading took a great deal before it gave anything back

The cost was not only financial. I stopped taking care of myself and my attention rarely left the market. Study, trade, lose, try to understand, and repeat.

I kept going because the goal was not simply money. After twenty years living around a company, I wanted to recover something I could not buy: my time.

There was no magic day or secret indicator. Results began to improve as the process became simpler and I understood my own behaviour better.

How I work now

Context before entries

I do not enter because one signal or one Order Block appears. I wait, observe, establish context and only then make a decision.

  1. 01Context
  2. 02Hypothesis
  3. 03Area
  4. 04Liquidity
  5. 05Structure

Data and technology

The chart is also a mirror

I record and analyse trades to understand what happens before, during and after each decision. Technology and AI help me study my own behaviour; they do not decide for me.

I want to show mistakes, stopped-out trades and decisions not to trade with the same honesty as the good trades. Showing only winners would tell half the story.

Beyond the chart

Trading is part of my life. It is not my whole life.

I am a father, business owner and trader. Travel, football, sport, aerial photography, music and technology belong to the same journey.

FUNESMA79 was created to document the whole process, not only charts.
